The "Blitz"
Get a comprehensive, low cost diagnostic
assessment that is completed in less than a week. A "Blitz" involves 6 – 8 JHD Group
senior consultants who
will benchmark your operations against
high performance organizations, and will
summarize the strengths and weaknesses
in terms of “performance gaps”. For each
performance gap, we will identify specific steps your organization can take to close gaps that are having a tangible
impact on the operations,
such as, reduced income, physician hassle,
unsatisfactory or compromised patient service,
and how that gap can be closed. The scope
of the “Blitz” is comprehensive including:
 |
Practice Strategy |
 |
Marketing and Business Development |
 |
Financial Position |
 |
Managed Care Strategy and Contracting |
 |
Revenue Cycle Management |
 |
Clinic/Medical Office Operations |
 |
Ancillary Operations |
 |
Administrative Operations |
 |
Information Technology Support |
 |
Physician Productivity and Compensation |
 |
Organization, Governance, and Management |
We begin the “Blitz” by collecting in
advance of the on-site work as much data
as is readily available (staffing, billing
and collection, physician compensation,
fee schedule, etc.) and then having the
team spend 3 – 5 days on site reviewing
operations, interviewing staff, and discussing
goals and issues with the physician leadership.
At the end of the on-site work, we present
to the physician leadership a “Blitz
Report” which addresses the group’s strengths,
opportunities, threats, and weaknesses
and a “roadmap” of how to improve market
position, operational effectiveness,
and financial results.

EMR Readiness/Project Status Assessment
With the increasing rate of EMR implementations,
more and more physician (or sponsoring
hospital) organizations are asking one
of two questions:
 |
Is our organization
and physicians ready to take on the
challenges of implementing an EMR? |
 |
Is our existing EMR selection or
implementation project bogged down
and at risk of failing? |
To help providers address these questions,
we have developed an EMR specific assessment
methodology which can be used at the
front-end before selection or implementation
has started, or at a point where the
sponsors are worried about the project
“going into the ditch”. Depending on
the specific situation, the questions
addressed include:
 |
Are the physicians
willing to adopt an EMR and make
the practice changes necessary for
success? |
 |
Are their sufficient vendor/client
resources? |
 |
Is the information technology support
sufficient? |
 |
Are/have the key challenges been
anticipated? |
 |
Is there a clear business case? |
 |
Has a detailed roll-out plan been
developed and vetted? |
